Now I have a few KC Rally shows under my belt and Carney is qualified at level 2, I am pleased to have started teaching the sport this evening. Â I am even more pleased at how excellent my first class attendees took to a new discipline and their positive approach.
I’m looking forward to making the most of the light evenings and having some fun with this new sport.
I will post the videos on the Class Chatter Facebook page.

Our next round of KC Good Citizen Assessments will take place at Upton St Leonards this Saturday (16 April 2016) from 12.45pm.  There is no charge to take the test but a contribution of £5 per dog is expected towards the hall rent.
Times are approximate – you can text or call 07775533894 to check on progress but be aware that, although I will try, I will be busy assisting so may not answer straight away.
As times are approximate and you may need to wait for your test, please ensure that you take the necessary precautions to prevent you and your dog overheating in the weather.  Think shade, water, avoiding walking on the tarmac except when necessary (if it is hot), no locking of dogs in cars – you should all have crates or harnesses to keep your dogs safe when travelling so you can leave windows and boots open.  Bring sheet or reflective covers for your windows. If you are concerned about security, ask one of us to watch your vehicle.
Any class members wanting to just come and see what it is all about, you are very welcome and may be roped in to help but please leave your dogs at home.
A few points to note:
IF I HAVE MISSED ANYONE ONE OR YOU ARE NOT ATTENDING AS BELOW – PLEASE TEXT ME ASAP
Bronze @ 12.45pm PROMPT

inKennel Club Good Citizen Awards will be tested on Saturday 16 April 2016.
It is intended to run the session from 12.30 – 5pm, with Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards available.  You need to pass each award level in order and can only take one award per examiner, per day (as we have one examiner, that means one test only – which is plenty!).  Estimated time slots will be allocated nearer the day.
The session will take place in the main hall and on the field at Upton St Leonards Village Hall, with the road walk in the local area.
Please put your name on the list available in class if you wish to take part. The testing is two months away so there is no pressure to make a decision just yet, this post is intended to encourage you to save the date.
Anyone wishing to come and watch or help is very welcome. I will post more details nearer the time. Any questions just ask.

I have received an email from KCGCDS offering class members the chance to apply for the Crufts display teams. Sapphire, Lola, Dotty and Tuzzi have all taken part and it is good fun (but a huge commitment – you cannot miss practice sessions!).
Dear Mrs Stewart,
We would like to offer members/clients of Animal Magic (Gloucester) Ltd the chance to take part in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme displays at Crufts 2015. The Scheme is looking to recruit individual handlers to represent Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards at the show. Please pass this information on to any club member/client who you think might be interested. Details of the individuals required, specific arrangements and practice sessions (Gold and Silver Teams) and application forms can be found on our website www.gcds.org.uk(the specific web page is at http://bit.ly/1znkGTz – see the links below).
Anyone participating in the Good Citizen Dog Scheme displays will be allocated free entrance passes for themselves and their dog and an additional pass to bring an assistant or helper. A car park ticket will also be provided for the days they are attending and a polo-shirt to wear for the displays. As this is a Kennel Club Licensed event, all dogs participating in the displays must be over 6 calendar months and under ten years of age. Furthermore, all dogs attending must possess a sound temperament with people and other dogs.Â
We are also looking for volunteers each day that would be willing to assist in staffing the show entrances between 6.30am and 10.00am, to give out poop scoop bags to show exhibitors. Anyone participating as a volunteer will be allocated a free entrance pass and a car park ticket.
If you or any of your members/clients are interested in any of the above and would like to apply please complete the attached application and return to the GCDS office.
Closing dates for receipt of application forms are as follows:-
–      Gold Team A (West Midlands) – Monday 22nd December 2014
–Â Â Â Â Â Â Gold Team B (Lancashire)Â – Friday 9th January 2015
–      Silver Applications (West Yorkshire) – Friday 16th January 2015
